No Title Yet

It’s too hot to be February I mumbled as I threw my bag into the trunk of my dodge neon. Something caught my eye as I was closing the lid. Bird poop, great! I sighed, I just washed this car two days ago. Just one more thing to add to my already horrible week. It should not be 75 degrees out at 8pm. I yelled to myself. There are a few things I’ve come to love, hate and learn about Arizona weather, one, the weather man wasted a lot of money if he had to get a degree to tell us the same thing ninety- five percent of the year. “ It’s hot today, and will be hot tomorrow, no chance of rain, The fire chances are high so remember throwing your cigarette buds out the window has a seventy- five percent chance of starting a fire.” I decided after a week of dealing with my ex-husband, his now ex-girl friend, and my current boy friend that I needed a weekend to myself. I ran inside my nice brick house, located in the up-town part of Scottsdale, (Snobsdale if your visiting) this house always knew my mood. cold. I like the weather man, had the same mood ninety - five percent of the year. Distracted by trying to remember why I came into the house in the first place I made sure I had the bathroom products I needed, dog food for Oliver, and 3 different pairs of shoes, simply because other than liking to have choices, I really didn’t know where I was going to end up. Flip flops incase I found myself going 6 hours to the nearest California beach, tennis shoes incase I wanted to explore the Mountains, and my boots with the heels, incase I wanted to go out. Running back out of my room I almost forgot to grab what I really came in for. Cds, I cannot do a road trip without Cds. I grabbed a few different ones, all relating to my moods, ranged from All American Rejects, to the Twilight sound track. Now being complete I grabbed Oliver’s leash, took one look around my room, my white walls stuck out for some reason, Ill have to paint when I get back, now thinking about colors I closed the door and headed back to my car. Once Oliver decided to jump in the car I closed the door, put my first cd in, and started to head out of my drive way. Before turning up my music I wanted to make sure I wasn’t killing Oliver with how loud I wanted it to be, “already sleeping.” I said quietly. Oliver is by far the worst traveling buddy. I stopped at the gas station closet to the 101 filled up $2. 95 per gallon! What a rip off I protested sliding my debit card into the slot. Some times I wish they would install little TV screens at the pump, put a porno on, so that everyone could watch someone else getting screwed at the same time. That theory which would normally make me laugh only annoyed me, makes me want to try to invent another way to make my car work. The addicting smell of gas made me return to my reality. Where am I going to go first, what do I expect to find? When I was finally ready to leave the gas station I Looked back at Oliver to debate if I should make him try to potty. He was still sleeping, I looked back and told him, “for being an 8 month old white German Sheppard mixed with Yellow Lab, you should have way more energy. That’s why I got you out of the pound.” He didn’t seem to care as he shifted his weight to the other side. While watching him do this, I realized that my small car will not fit him much longer and I may need to up grade to an SUV. Finally stopping at the last red light before the 101 I was for some reason very excited to go off on my own with the one friend that didn’t talk too much, and didn’t criticize my driving. As the light turned green I said loud enough to wake Oliver for the split second “here we go!”
